Adventures in Laundry

I just recently finished 25 loads of laundry! Yes I said 25!!

Laundry had piled up and needed to be done then something unforeseen happened. The dry well that we have for the washer, since we have septic, wasn't so dry. I found this out when I was working on felting my niece's clogs. You could hear the water spinning out of the washer, going out and down the drain pipe, then coming back up and onto the floor. Ahhhhhh!! That is never a good thing. At least there isn't carpet anywhere near.

Kevin dug up the dry well, replaced the drain pipe, dug the well deeper, added more rock and put it all back again in just a week. Note this was all done by hand so it did take a while. So now there was even more laundry adding up while the washer was out of commission.

I never thought that I would hear myself say that I am happy to be doing laundry. Granted we have a laundry mat just down the street and you can get it all done at once, but I really like the convenience of being able to do it at home at my own leisure. I am sure that James wouldn't appreciate having to make the trip to the laundry mat not being able to stay home to play with his toys and watch his shows. And besides he couldn't run into my chair to see what he can get into when I get up to check the laundry. It is so funny to see him try and get there before I get there to stop him. It is one of our games we play together.

Now I can get back to felting my niece's clogs and the Easter baskets that I have been working on. Depending on how busy tomorrow is I am hoping to get a little felting done. I still have 3 more Easter baskets to make and time is running short. I so far have James' knit and felted, my niece's knit - just needs felted, my Mom's knit - needs ends wove in and felted. I still need to knit Kevin's, Kevin's Parent's and mine. I am not really worried about mine, but I would like to get the other 2 done.

Well since we are springing forward an hour tonight I am heading to bed. Maybe this year I won't completely loose and hour of sleep like I usually do. Hahaha I know it is wishful thinking.
